[ origin ]
By 2024, the engineering practice had grown to stand alone.
Atiq and Noman started Design Monks years ago, building a design agency clients genuinely loved. But almost every project ended the same way: a happy client asking one more question: could you also build this for us?
Besides, watching a carefully crafted interface lose its soul once someone else coded it became a familiar, quiet heartbreak. Every mismatched button and flattened detail felt personal, like watching something they cared about slowly come apart.
Atiq had long trusted Saiful, a close friend whose development skills he had seen firsthand on an earlier project together. One ordinary coffee meeting, the three of them arrived at the same obvious answer: build it themselves.
That answer became DevMonks, a separate company built to serve any client with a real project, designed by Design Monks or not. The promise stayed simple for all the clients: whatever design you bring us, we ship it exactly as intended.
[ growth ]
Atiq and Noman opened the doors to Design Monks in 2021, focused entirely on building interfaces clients would trust and love.
Word spread fast, and requests kept coming from every direction. Before long, Design Monks had delivered over 200 projects worldwide.
In 2025, Atiq, Noman, and Saiful acted on years of frustration and launched DevMonks, an engineering team meant to protect their designs.
In its first stretch, DevMonks has already shipped more than 50 products, proving design and engineering were never meant to be separate.
[ how we think ]
01
One team, one craft
Design and engineering sit on the same side of the table, so nothing gets lost in translation between them.
02
Software over slides
We would rather show working software than pitch a deck, since a prototype answers more questions than any presentation could.
03
AI aids, not replaces
Empty states, focus rings, the fifth loading case; nobody notices these until they're missing. The work people remember lives in details.
04
Details matter
Empty states, focus rings, the fifth loading case; nobody notices these until they're missing. The work people remember lives in details.
05
Own the outcome
Our job does not end at handoff; it ends when the product truly works for the people using it.
06
Leave it clearer
Every codebase, document, and decision should be easier to understand after we touched it. That is how we measure quality.
07
No surprises, ever
We would rather tell you something is hard before starting than explain it afterward, because honesty comes before comfort.
08
Simple wins
Given a choice between a clever solution and a simple one, we choose simple every time, since simple survives use.
